Why focus on a Positive Public Image?
The news media tells a story that is out of balance with reality. The news media priority is the ratings that come from juicy headlines, and negative image veteran stories serve their goal. This negative portrayal perpetuates stereotypes and stigmas that create problems in employment and policy for Army Veterans. We are committed to changing the narrative around Army veterans with a nuanced, balanced, and accurate story.
Telling the Untold Army Veteran Story
The vast majority of Army Veterans return to their community and continue their life of service, providing leadership, courage, discipline, honor, and valor. Positive Army Veteran stories go untold, creating a false, out-of-balance Army Veteran Public Image. We will improve this by finding ways to tell the positive stories of community contributions from Army Veterans.
